Now that Microsoft has discontinued support for FireWire, you may well be better off looking for a used computer than buying a brand new one. You will always find a certain percentage of people who simply have to have the very latest system, even if they have only very recently bought the one before. If you can find a very recent computer, but one which was still released with Windows XP as the operating system, this will be your best bet for finding the highest specification machine which is still compatible with FireWire.

Once you have got hold of a base unit which is FireWire compatible, you can then add the external FireWire DVD burner. Once you have done this, you are all set to begin producing your DVD masterpiece. Whether this is just a compilation of video clips which you want to archive together, or whether you are creating your own movies using a high end digital video camera, there is no limit to what you can do with this state of the art technology.
